Boys Player Evaluations
by posted 02/26/2010

Andover Youth Services will be conducting player evaluations this spring for all U15 and U13 eligible players. U15 eligible players are those boys registered to play this spring and currently enrolled in grades 7 or 8. U13 eligible players are those boys registered to play this spring and currently enrolled in grades 5 or 6.

The goal of the evaluation process differs for each age level. For U15 boys, the goal is to assess the player’s relative skill level and place them on a team commensurate with their ability. For U13 boys, the goal is to create equally weighted teams.

There will be no cuts at either level. All U15 and U13 players will be placed on a team.

The evaluation sessions will begin with a short warm up and line drills. Players will then be separated into four groups and rotated through a series of stations to test their stick skills, dodging and defensive footwork, shooting ability, and knowledge of team play.

All evaluation sessions will be held at the Andover High School Field House. Full equipment and sneakers (no cleats) are required for the evaluation sessions.

The dates and times for the U15 evaluations are:
            Wednesday March 3rd from 5:30pm – 7:00pm
            Wednesday March 10th from 5:30pm – 7:00pm
All U15 players should attend both sessions.

The U13 evaluation session will be held on Tuesday March 9th from 5:30pm – 7:00pm. All U13 eligible players should make every effort to attend the session.
