Welcome to Andover Warriors Lacrosse

“Warriors are not what you think of as Warriors. The Warrior is not someone who fights, because no one has the right to take another life. The Warrior, for us, is one who sacrifices himself for the good of others.” – Sitting Bull

Andover Warriors Lacrosse, in partnership with the Andover Youth Services, is open to boys and girls from Andover in the 1st through 8th grades. We encourage the participation of new players regardless of grade, while continuing our efforts to provide a quality lacrosse opportunity for players of all ages and abilities.

It is our goal to promote lacrosse in an environment that emphasizes fun, while developing skills, teamwork, good sportsmanship and a lasting love for the game of lacrosse.

Andover Lacrosse News & Notes
We are working toward what we hope is the return of a spring lacrosse...
The time has finally arrived!! Registration for the 2021 Spring Lacrosse season opens on Saturday January 16th for boys and girls in the 1st-8th grades!
While we are always excited to provide the young people of Andover an opportunity to get outside, be active and connect with their peers, this season seems so important. We have been working hard to identify the aspects that make a youth lacrosse experience both fun and rewarding for players and their families and we feel that despite the challenges that our current reality present, we can, with your help, offer a space of connection – which we are all sorely in need of.
While we don’t know exactly what the spring season will look like, we do know that we are committed to giving players of all abilities and experience a chance to learn the game of lacrosse in a positive, ecouraging and fun envirornment; working toward building a lacrosse community that fosters growth, inclusion and accessability.
It is with those goals in mind, that our girls program joined the Founders Girls Lacrosse League a few years back and our boys will be re-joining the Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League this spring.
Both of these lacrosse orgazinations are focused on the growth of the game in Massachusetts and work to advocate for players and their families in providing leadership, guidance and training to anyone interested in lacrosse.
The Andover Youth Services was formed in 1994 by a group of high school students with the hope of giving young people a voice and a space to belong within their community. In 1998, the Andover Youth Services helped bring lacrosse to Andover and since that time, the missions of AYS and Andover Youth Lacrosse have been the same; to provide affordabe, accessible, safe and challenging youth programs that appeal and respond to diverse interests.
It is our belief that the steps we have taken in building our 2021 lacrosse programs give us, and our lacrosse community, the greatest chance for success. We know that this season will be different than years past, for many reasons, but we are confident that these steps are in the right direction and look forward to you joining us on the path. Please check out what we currently have going on, and what is planned for the spring!

Since June of 2020, the Andover Youth Services has been offering in-person programs and experiences for middle school and high school students while following proper state and local guidelines as they pertain to mitigating the spread of COVID-19. Through the diligent efforts of staff, participants and parents, we have successfully offered opportunities for thousands of young people to be active, stay connected and have fun. It will be a top priority of the Youth Services staff and Andover Youth Lacrosse volunteers to continue with these efforts and the rewards of being able to step out of the virtual world and into spaces together, safely.
As the start of the season approaches, we will monitor current COVID guidelines and put in place  the proper plans to offer a successful and safe lacrosse season.

Andover Lacrosse News & Notes

We are working toward what we hope is the return of a spring lacrosse season and wanted to take a minute to update you on a few items of interest.

Andover Youth Lacrosse is gathering details and we hope to get information about our spring lacrosse opportunities out at the beginning of January. Please look for an email from us at the start of the new year!

As we prepare for a lacrosse season this coming spring, we are excited to announce several opportunities in the New Year. Starting January 4th, we will have a brand new set of programs for boy’s lacrosse to shake off the off-season!

We will be offering a clinic style program where our main focus will be on the fundamentals of the game, such as throwing, catching, shooting, ground balls, and general lacrosse IQ!  These clinics are available to any boy’s lacrosse player in 1st - 8th grade. Clinics are split into two age groups and will run two times a week for six weeks

Please check out program details below:

BOYS 1st-4th GRADE
Monday (6:30-7:30pm)/ Wednesday (4:05-5:05pm)

BOYS 5th-8th GRADE
Monday (6:30-7:30 pm)/ Wednesday (3:00-4:00pm)

This instructional program will meet twice a week to provide an opportunity to work on stick skills and lacrosse IQ in a fun and positive environment. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been playing for five years or it’s your first lacrosse experience, there is always part of your game that needs work. Our top-notch coaching staff will work with young people individually, and in groups, to further refine their skilled aspects of lacrosse.

Participants need full equipment, including a helmet, stick, mouth guard, shoulder and elbow pads and gloves. Please be sure to have sneakers and cleats, as well as a refillable water bottle.

3 vs. 3 LACROSSE
We are ecstatic to be offering an opportunity to get out there and play! Our official 3 vs. 3 program is available for 5th-10th graders! The game is a permanent unsettled (3 on 2) offensive possession, as one player on the defensive team plays goalie. We play with a tennis ball to ensure soft hands, and the general safety of our players. It is an adaptation of indoor/box lacrosse, which is touted by college and professional lacrosse coaches, as the best way to improve hand speed, shot accuracy, off-ball movement, and offensive awareness. Plus, it’s a great time! Below is the program description and times:

BOYS 5th-8th Grade – Group One
Tuesday 6:00-7:00pm

BOYS 5th-8th Grade – Group Two
Wednesday 5:10-6:10pm

BOYS 9th & 10th Grade
Tuesday 7:00-8:00pm

This legendary game goes by many names 3 v. 3, 3by, or trashcan ball. This is not an instructional program. It is for players looking for an opportunity to just play! It’s a great way to get your body moving, improve your stick skills, and have fun! We play with a tennis ball and half size goals.

Please bring full equipment (helmet, gloves, elbow pads, shoulder pads, and mouthguard), a pair of sneakers, and a refillable water bottle.

Space is limited to 10 per group, so sign up today!

We are currently working on putting together similar clinic and play options for our girls participants. Please be on the lookout for information soon!

At the Cormier Youth Center, we have been running programs inside throughout the winter without issue. We have all the appropriate up-to-date COVID guidelines in place to ensure the safety and comfort of all participants and their families.

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out via email at   or give us a call at 978-623-8360.
